Following Apple App Store (5.1.1(v)) and Google Play requirements, you can permanently delete your Yoma account at any time, directly from the mobile app. This page explains the procedure and what is deleted.
1. How to delete your account from the app
1) Open the Yoma app and sign in. 2) Tap the "Profile" tab at the bottom of the screen. 3) Tap "Account settings". 4) Scroll to the "Privacy & safety" section, then tap "Delete account". 5) Read the warning and tap "Send confirmation code". 6) Enter the 6-digit code sent to your email or phone. 7) Tap "Delete my account". The deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
2. What gets deleted
• Your personal information — name, email, phone number, profile picture — is erased. • All your listings (if you are an Owner) are removed from the Service. • All active sessions are revoked immediately. • Your push-notification tokens are deleted. To preserve the integrity of conversations with other users, your past messages remain visible in their inboxes, but your name is replaced with "Deleted user".
3. Limited retention after deletion
Some data may be retained in a limited form for legal or security reasons: • Anonymized technical logs: up to 12 months. • Payment and subscription records: as required by Cameroonian law. • Moderation reports you submitted: kept to protect the community. None of this remaining data identifies you after deletion.
4. Can I undo the deletion?
No. Once you enter the confirmation code, deletion is permanent. If you want to come back to Yoma later, you'll have to create a new account.
5. Alternative: temporary deactivation
If you just want a break without erasing everything, email us at dave@briandave.dev. We can deactivate your account while keeping your data available for reactivation.
6. Need help?
If you cannot delete your account from the app (for example, if you can no longer sign in), email dave@briandave.dev from the email address or phone number associated with your account. We will action your request within 7 days.
